The room of wonders

Like a Renaissance cabinet of curiosities, this fresco presents an anthology of timeless, colourful and surprising essentials, designed to enhance the silhouette and offer clients around the world a total Dior look.

“My dream is to dress a ‘Christian Dior’ woman from head to toe.”

They are so important to the well-dressed woman," Christian Dior wrote about accessories in his Little Dictionary of Fashion.

Original edition of the book Christian Dior's little dictionnary of fashion, 1954.

The couturier and his successors collaborated with various artisans and designers to create exceptional pieces imbued with refinement and modernity.

In 2017, Maria Grazia Chiuri called on Claude Lalanne, whose enchanting jewellery decorated with flowers, brambles and butterflies adorned the floral dresses of the designer’s first Haute Couture fashion show.

For over eight years, the Lady Dior has been reinvented by various contemporary artists – including Lee Bul, Olga de Amaral, Mickalene Thomas, Joana Vasconcelos, Judy Chicago, Claire Tabouret, Genieve Figgis, Dorothy Iannone and Penny Slinger – through the Lady Art project, making the bag more than ever a coveted objet d’art. A tribute to the pioneering vision of Monsieur Dior, that began in 1947.
